Mt. SAC edges Sac City to win the Team Dual State Championship

There is close and then there is razor thin. Mt. San Antonio and Sacramento City battled to a virtual standstill at the inaugural CA CC Dual Team State Championship. Each team gathered 5 wins, each had 1 Fall, and each had 1 major decision. The tie was finally broken by total match points, with Mt. SAC besting Sac City by 3 points, 43 to 40.

125 lbs. – Christian Bettancourt (Mt. SAC) Winner by decision vs Albert Landeros (SCC) 8-2.

133 lbs. – Nathan Pike (Mt. SAC) Winner by Fall in the 3rd period vs Anthony Sakaoka (SCC)

141 lbs. – Anthony Duran (Mt. SAC) Winner by decision vs Laith Alnassir (SCC) 5-1.

149 lbs. – Will Upson (SCC) Winner by major decision vs Jonathan Hernandez (Mt. SAC) 12-2.

157 lbs. – Taylor Hodel (SCC) Winner by decision vs Marcos Villarreal (Mt. SAC) 4-1.

165 lbs. – Tyson Kuahine (SCC) Winner by decision vs Cyrus Sanai (Mt. SAC) 3-1.

174 lbs. – Alex Campos-Chambers (SCC) Winner by Fall in the 1st period vs Brody Goens (Mt. SAC)

184 lbs. – Jared Matanane (Mt. SAC) Winner by decision vs Allen Emmons (SCC) 6-4.

197 lbs. – Hudson Buck (SCC) Winner by decision vs Vernon Willis (Mt. SAC) 11-6.

285 lbs – Nadel Abdullatif (Mt. SAC) Winner by major decision vs Jesse Lucero (SCC) 14-3.
